In 1914, Sir Ernest Shackleton led a group of 27 men on what was supposed to be the first trans-Antarctic expedition. But disaster struck when their ship got trapped in ice. Faced with seemingly impossible odds, Shackleton did not give up or descend into despair; instead, he demonstrated exceptional coaching skills as a leader - he encouraged his team members' strengths and kept morale high despite their dire circumstances. After two years stranded on the ice and sailing across wild waters in lifeboats, every single man returned home safely. Shackleton's story resonates because it brings forth the importance of empowering your team through adversity - a crucial skill for any leader or coach. Alright!
