Frankl proposed that even under the most brutal circumstances, people can find meaning in life to sustain them through suffering. His experiences underscored how crucial emotional resilience is for our wellbeing. You see, emotional wellbeing isn't just about feeling happy all the time or suppressing negative emotions. As Rumi once beautifully articulated: "The wound is the place where the Light enters you." It's about acknowledging feelings – both good and bad – and understanding what they're trying to tell us. Let's shift gears slightly now to discuss a powerful speech given by J.K.Rowling at Harvard University in 2008 titled 'The Fringe Benefits of Failure'. Rowling spoke candidly about her failures before she became successful as an author. She said: "It is impossible to live without failing at something unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all - in which case, you fail by default." These wise words from Rowling remind us that it's okay not to be perfect; our perceived failures or moments of vulnerability can actually enable growth and foster emotional wellbeing.
